Fresh cases surged to 20,060 on Saturday, just a day after breaching the 18,000 mark for the first time. While Maharashtra reported the highest jump in numbers, recording as many as 6,368 new cases, at least nine other states and Union territories witnessed their highest single-day spurt in infections.
