UP Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act misused: Allahabad High Court

The court made the view while hearing the bail plea of a person charged with provisions under the Act, which calls for a minimum imprisonment of two years if convicted. The accused who was slapped with charges such as trespassing, kidnapping, dishonestly retaining stolen property and theft, had pleaded that he was being falsely implicated under the law.
