Parab's party has similarities with how the Shiv Sena came into being. Like the Sena, the RG started demonstrating for getting jobs for "locals " and began giving training to Goans to get jobs in the state. Goa has huge migrant populations who have even become valuable vote banks over time, resulting in anger among the locals against the migrants.\
