The academic disruptions due to the Covid-19 situation, with nearly a quarter of school children not having access to any digital devices, led to further deepening of the learning crisis in the country. When compared to the previous survey conducted in 2017, the National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2021 of over 34 lakh students from classes III, V, VIII and X indicated that the worst hit are those studying in state-government run schools.
