According to the police, the incident took place around 9pm on Mahnar- Hajipur main road under Desari police station area, when the locals have gathered on roadside under a tree to perform puja (prayer service) to worship Bhuiyan Baba. Amid the prayer service, an uncontrolled truck rammed people standing on the roadside and overturned on the spot after hitting the tree.
