Army to use special powers to procure 72,000 Sig 716s

The armed forces are undertaking a large number of procurements under the emergency clause, triggered by the continuing standoff with Chinese forces in Ladakh, including various types of ammunition, anti-air missiles and air-to-ground munitions.
