Over 5 lakh tribals, other forest dwellers whose claims had been rejected, could face eviction

The exercise, following a February 2019 interim Supreme Court order to check the number of tribals, whose claims had been rejected under the Scheduled Tribe and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act 2006, has revealed that 5,43,732 claims have been finally rejected across 14 states.
