India and China work out five-point plan; agree to ease tensions, but no cut in troops as yet

External affairs minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi agreed on a joint statement listing the five points after talks on Thursday on the sidelines of a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet. Both agreed that the "current situation in the border areas is not in the interest of either side".
