Pollution control body with wide powers soon

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had on Monday informed the SC of the Centre’s decision to set up the authority. It will draw power from the Environment Protection Act, 1986, and will be given adequate teeth to ensure implementation of anti-pollution measures in Delhi-NCR and stakeholder states Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
