Indian Air Force to have new branch for missile units, UAVs

Announcing the new branch, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said that the unification of all weapon systems operators under a single entity will result in savings of over Rs 3,400 crore. The cost savings would accrue as these specialised officers will not undergo flying training and in future, officers from the flying branch - be it fighter, transport or helicopters - can concentrate on their primary duties.
