The Delhi government has extended its excise duty-based policy for the financial year 2024-25, allowing wholesale licenses under the same terms as the previous year. The policy, in effect since October 2023, will continue for the coming year, with licenses renewable under existing terms. This policy, introduced in 2022, shifted retail liquor business from private firms to Delhi government enterprises. A new excise policy is in the works but has not yet been finalized or implemented.
