In the run-up to celebrating the 75th year of Indian Independence and the launch of 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, the government is expecting costs of the Tricolour to come down as a result of the change made to the Flag Code of India 2002 which allows machine-made polyester, other than handspun and handwoven khadi, to be used in the production of the national flag.
