50 new medical colleges approved in India this year, adding 8,195 undergraduate seats: Sources

India has approved 50 new medical colleges this year, including 30 government and 20 private colleges, to add 8,195 undergraduate seats to the country's total of more than 107,658. According to official sources, the colleges have been added across states such as Telangana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Nagaland, Maharashtra, Assam, Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
