Digvijaya Singh, a senior Congress leader, expressed disappointment over Akshay Kanti Bam's withdrawal from the Indore Lok Sabha seat contest, calling it "a very big betrayal." Singh clarified that while he had family relations with Bam, the ticket was given by the Congress party. Bam's withdrawal comes as a blow to the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, following a similar incident in Surat, Gujarat, where the BJP won uncontested after the Congress candidate's nomination was rejected and others withdrew.
