Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday stoked a political row by likening PM Narendra Modi to a “poisonous snake”, drawing a strong riposte from BJP which said such statements reflect “hate” for the PM and sought an apology from the opposition party. Kharge later sought to clarify that his remarks were not aimed at the PM but at his party, while BJP trained its guns at the Congress chief.
