Nitish calls on Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh as Part of Opposition Unity efforts

The leaders addressed a news conference in Kolkata and Lucknow after the meetings to send out a message that talks were beginning to yield results and Opposition parties would come together. A few days earlier, Kumar had met Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi where it was agreed that he would talk to parties which were at loggerheads with Congress and break the ice.
