The Election Commission directed the Union home ministry to retain 25 companies of central forces in Andhra Pradesh after post-poll violence incidents. The EC conveyed its displeasure at Nirvanchan Sadan and summoned state officials for explanations. Chief secretary, DGP, and SPs were tasked to take pre-emptive measures. The poll authority sought explanations from state officials.
