Despite claiming to have dismantled Hamas's military in January, renewed clashes erupted in Jabalia, the second-most populous town in northern Gaza. The army stated that it had killed around 200 militants since the fighting resumed. Images show soldiers navigating through heavily damaged buildings. Similar intense fighting also occurred in Gaza City's Zeitun neighborhood. Israel previously believed that the last Hamas battalions were in Rafah, prompting a military operation there.
