A day after brokering a peace deal and asking Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to ‘step aside’ pending inquiry into the allegations of sexual harassment and intimidation against him, Union sports minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday dismissed WFI’s assistant secretary Vinod Tomar with immediate effect for his public remarks in Gonda defending Singh, a BJP strongman and six-time Lok Sabha MP.
