In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, minister for culture and tourism G Kishan Reddy said the tourism industry had shown "good" signs of revival after the Covid-19 pandemic. Industry insiders, however, said the latest numbers were significantly behind pre-Covid levels. Prior to the pandemic, in 2019, foreign tourist arrivals in India were 10.93 million.
