Stabilisation of situation is immediate target, says Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has expressed concern over the ethnic violence causing loss of life and property in Manipur. It directed the central and state governments to provide details on relief camps, displaced persons, and protecting religious places. The proceedings will not become a "ground for destabilisation". The governments informed the court that the curfew was relaxed and no violent incidents took place. Both governments assured remedial measures were being taken proactively. The situation was under control due to the deployment of security forces, flag marches, peace meetings, and relief camps for displaced persons.
